$325,000 Paid by Colorado County to Jail Detainee Brutalized by Guards Equipped with Controversial Training

As reported by Prison Legal News, attorney David Maxted of Maxted Law LLC, with co-counsel Kathryn Stimson of Stimson Labranche Hubbard LLC, obtained a $325,000 settlement of a case involving allegations of he brutalization of a client in the Weld County jail by Special Operations Group deputies who fired flash bang explosives at the client at close range, and also smashed the clients face into the floor, causing injury.

In addition to the payout, the settlement also required the County to agree to changes in policy, training, and practices aiming to prevent civil rights violations of this nature within this jail in the future.
